I like the fourth pic where the tent is just on the Jeep, the rest look cool, but if you wanna use your jeep to wheel while your camping, the rest look like they would be a pain to put up and down.

I saw their Jeep with that camper at Sema but it was closed so you could not tell how it functioned.

Assuredly this would be tits on a long expedition type venture but I like to go camp and wheel from a base camp. It'd be nice to be able to drive away and leave camp setup. Would be a PITA to break camp every day.

I've been camping over 40 years now and I will never understand why anyone would want to tie up a vehicle with tent. You automatically remove the vehicle from use when camping in such situations. Tents are easy to set up.
It's cool, but not very practical. Too many "what if's" may occur when the vehicle becomes the primary living platform. In winter, vehicles get much colder than tents on the ground. I always appreciate new gear but there is limited use in such a tent. You also pay a price for weight and gear carrying space with such a setup. I spend a great deal of time in tents, especially winter hunting camps. I am always looking for new and different gear to make my camping experience better. |

. I agree, think it's neato of course, just not practical except for those that park, camp and don't move. I love night wheeling, trailing, head back to camp, etc. Sure there are a few who'd dig this setup. |

Looking at that drawing it appears to be non-self-supporting (non free standing) once it is detached from the vehicle and appears to be a rather large vestibule. That's cool to have if you are going this direction. But why limit one's self in such a way?
I am sure there are times when a tent of this type might be useful but it is limited in scope. |

Just from the neato cool factor I like. The bottom pic with the 2 sides would be very cool, IF you could disconnect the jeep and drive away like a lil garage.

dont Put it on your jeep....
I would probably attach it to a trailer, like one of the old military style with a top. Hinge the top so you can still access the inside or put a rear door on the trailer so you can get in while the tent is set up. Set up trailer camp, go wheel, drink beer go to sleep

Although.... with the wild boar maybe you can keep all your gear in the grounded tent (assuming it is self supporting), close off the roof tent and go. Seems that with AT you would need to pack out your gear to close it off every day (more work).
Why sleep on top? Maybe to stay away from bugs, animals, dirt, water. With three little kids I am more of a cabin person right now than a tent person... just thinking out loud. And by the way, Jeeps have different heights. I assume it has some level of adjustability for that... I wonder what the height limit is.

just a suggestion make the doors to the jeep available from inside the tent. that would be really tight to have the wall the actual jeep. mayb have the ground fabric come up to the botoom of the doors or something

Considering I emailed Wildboar about 2 weeks ago and have yet to receive a response from them I say their service sucks at this point!
