When:
Saturday, April 9th, 2011

Time:
6:30AM (if your camping in Payson the day before ----> read bottom)
About an hour drive to Payson so we'll be strictly leaving the gas station at 6:45 so please dont be LATE!

Where:
10180 North Fort McDowell Road, Fort McDowell, AZ (Meet at the "BAJA Gas Station" across from Fort McDowell Casino)

Why:
To get a chance to wheel with some local people who share similar interests as you. This is a your perfect chance to learn the ropes with wheeling basics or even test your rig on the OPTIONAL lines. Moreover, this could very well be our last run before it starts warming up again.

Bring:
Yourself, your rig, and whatever else you feel is needed. Plenty of food and water is a must. Recovery gear and tools can also be beneficial if you have the room in your rig. Also, your more than welcome to bring a buddy or more if you like. Were not strict about just JKs either, all are welcome!

RSVP:
A ROUGH VEHICLE COUNT IS GENERALLY PREFFERED.

Those that camp Friday can just meet at trailhead or along the dirt road or McDonalds if they want.
As far as Saturday, campers can just post up and we can meet up at the trailhead or road too.
We should be heading out on the trail between 8 and 9.
Our camper takes only 30 minutes to set up.

There is also a campground just off the 87/260 called Houston Mesa CG.

Updated the list. A lot of people on VJC are taking interest, so this thing is gonna be big! Im assuming about 25-30 rigs will actually be there, since a lot of people bail at the last minute. Keep in mind this is gonna take up a decent majority of the day, but should be well worth it. Perfect chance to spend the day with your family!

Wife and I will be there. Might bring Motorhome and camp at bottom, or just come up for Saturday. Can we run the upper part, from the big fall UP? I would be inclined to lead if anyone else would like to join....

Did your wife tell you we were driving side by side on union hills the other a week or so ago? I wouldnt mind doing the upper part, but I think with the amount of rigs going its best we do the first part . Maybe we can do that and then have those stay and wheel the rest of the trail if they're up for it.

I am suppose to be taking my son and a few friends camping this weekend for his 11th birthday. Maybe I can kill two birds with one stone here? :D. Is anyone else bringing their kids too? If so what ages?

I did this run up to the waterfall with JP Trails and it's a fun run and the weather should be great. There is a forest road that runs parallel to the run and you should be able to get trailers, RV, Pop-ups, etc. For me, I will be tenting it old school.

Does anyone know if there is some safe places to do some target shooting with a 22 back by the camping area?

I am in with the kids. Anyone going up Friday afternoon to set up camp and have two good nights? If so, when and we should plan to go together. .

#41 ·
Sounds like most of us that are camping will be heading up Friday afternoon/evening. I'm sure we can work out a caravan as it gets closer to the 9th.
