Since there are so many new JK owners here as well as seasoned owners I'd like to hear as a new owner what were the first mods you did, and as a seasoned JK owner what are your top 10 mods?
I'll start:
As a new owner I did.
Grab Handles
rubber floor mats
CB radio
Daystar dash panel
new rockers with steps (the gf is short!)
Once my Jeep grew up it got what I thought were priority items:
Winch bumper
skid plate kit
lift
tires
OBA
CB
Fab Fours front & rear bumpers
4" Lift
Rims/Tires (35's)
Winch
5.13 Gears
Detroit Locker in the rear, leaving the front open for now.
Swapped hard top for soft top
Haven't decided what to do next, thinking the Tuffy rear security deck since I usually have my laptop on me and hate leaving it in the Jeep ever since putting on the soft top.
these are the first few things I did to my jk.
tints
Rubber floor mats
rugged ridge dash organizer
mopar door guards and fuel door
Stubby antenea
recovery gear/tool bag
k and n drop in filter
mopar hood lock (stops flutter)
After all the interior mods I moved onto bumpers, lift, winch, and tires
now I continue as the list never ends

I've got a few over 10 so here they all are:
added a hitch and front tow hooks
smitty src rockers
Evap and SS relocate from woods
some cheap CL Rubi takeoff MT's
Safari top and duster
Then the little interior things like grabhandles, mats, extinguisher and flashlight holders.
2.5" BB with some rubi springs and JKS adj track bar
TF- quickdiscos
wheel spacers
added a takeoff fog bumper and wired fog lights
winch, highlift and other recovery gear
Soft top (cause I got a smokin deal on it)
CB and antenna
Safari straps for the dogs
drop in afe air filter
Thats about all I need/want for now. Sure I have a wish list as long as anyone else...but its all wishes... maybe when I win the lottery
The things I'm going to change are I'm trying to sell my safari top/since I now have the soft top, and install some heated seats... a little extra comfort factor since we tend to take some long drives. When my tires are worn out I'm pretty sure I'm going to go to a 33", and when the kids get a little bigger I'll probably get rid of the smitty rockers and just get some rubi takeoffs as I bang the smittys around alot. I'm also going to be working with some friends to build some LCA skids and front half gas tank skids. They've done three so far and have turned out well- so that'll be well needed protection for cheap. So all these things are cheap DIY or a trade so the $$ expense isn't as much.
Trying to calculate from what I can remember and its just over $2000 over the year we've had it.. damn it ads up fast, and I only did one thing at a time and all my own work.... Maybe this year I'll just pay down the loan that extra $2000.....
I've definitely learned a lot by wheeling & researching in the last couple years and would approach my next build slightly differently. I fooled myself into thinking I'd wheel mostly in the Pines and wait to lift it for a couple years so I focused on armor & recovery to start.
My advice for newbies: Research a lot. Talk to a lot of people. Go wheel it stock & see how capable it is in basic form. Spend the $ and time and do it right the first time. Waiting is hard but worth it.
my first 10:
1. Husky floor mats
