Jeep trunk

Just got finished building a trunk for the JK.





$30 instead of $300 Worth every penny now dont worry when top and doors off ,cant open without opening tailgate.Even got a solid place to mount jack inside.

Nice. Plus you can throw stuff on it when you have the top on.

It attathces through the hole the hard-top bolts to,have 4 bolts in it now.The back part behind rollbar is hinged.


As you can see I kept it back @ 3/8 from edge so it dosent bother top off or on.

Not his one all I had her was wafer board but now since we got a pattern the next one is gonna be out of marine grade plywood and glue carpet to increase water repellent.

I built a similar enclosure for mine but had trouble with the soft top bows when I lowered the top. Just curious how you worked around this or if you have problems lowering the top.

No I havent had any trouble with the top down . Take the bows lose and I roll the side windows in a blanket the rear one I just leave attatched at top rolled up lays flat on the top of the box.

Thanks wont start mass production but when I get the marine grade plywood
one built I will sell this one .

I really want to get one of the frameless off road tops. May look into it before I build another and then it wouldn't matter. I like the way you made it into multiple pieces. Mine was on piece and I had to to take the soundbar out to angle it in. Pain to install but it would take a chainsaw to get it out. The next one I will spray with bedliner to help with weather issues.
