Got a dual top option on my JKU rubi, and don't want/need the softop... even though it has the fancy spring assist and improved material etc. Looking to sell it on (and pay for other fun mods)...
Thanks - I assume that by 'all the parts' you mean brackets, door surrounds, windows etc. If so, all sweet - they are all brand spankin new in the box.
So a friend has a 2012 JKU that only came with the hard top. Will a 2013 soft top work on a 2012 if she gets the hardware, door surrounds, etc with the 2013 top?
This doesn't work going the other way though. A new top will fit on all JK's with all the pieces, but a top from an older JK will not work on a '12 or '13. They made a change to the location of the center bracket on the windshield for the freedom top and it interferes with the older style soft top header.
That is 100% BS. Is this just hearsay or is this your actual experience?
I initially installed an older 2009 soft top on my 2012 Jeep and then later upgraded to a new one. The new soft tops and old soft tops don't make use of the center footman's loop and there is no interference.
I also sold my 2012 hard top to somebody with an 2007 JK. Their Jeep didn't have the center loop in the same place, but the top still installed just fine.
I am running a 2013 top on my 2007. Not a single issue - actual experience.
No leaks, no noise - exactly like the top that came with it, except I now have the sunrider option.
