Rail Rub Solutions

What's the best solution to rail rub: cutting rail and body or moving rear axle back? What are the benefits and drawbacks of each? Any input would be appreciated.

On a long enough timeline the survival rate of everyone is zero!

What rails are you talking about cutting, the factory Rubi Rails? If so, just cut the rails back along with the pinch seam. Also, what size tire are you running?

Yep stock rubi rails with 35s. I haven't actually rubbed yet but it sure looks like that is inevitable.

Def will rub,I have 35's with a teraflex leveling kit. Trimmed the rubi rails and pinch seems and got an extra inch to 1-1/2. Clearance.

Yep just trim the pinch seam and the rubi rail.

Reword the subject.... sounds to me as you are looking for solutions for rub rails.... not nerf bars. Big difference. As already pointed out.... cut metal everywhere.

And you didn't mention how much, if any lift you have.

Many times "it looks like it will rub" doesn't turn out to result in a rub. Remember the rear axle should move up and down, not forward and back. I alawys think mine looks like it will rub on the front of the wheel opening, but it does not.

I have a 4" Tf lift, 37s, aftermarket sliders and trimmed pinch seams though.

08 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon: lift, wheels/tires, bumpers, skids, sliders, winch, lights, cb. All the normal stuff, plus some.......

I vote trim the rails, pinch seam and push the axle back.

Hmm... my experience is different? I have trimmed several inches worth out of the front and back and still get tire contact occasionally. I have not noticed any tire cutting, so I am not worried about it... others might.
