Recon Winch

I have seen good things about the Recon 10500 lb winch and am thinking about picking one up considering the price. I was wondering if someone that has one can give me some overall dimensions on the winch, nothing crazy precise just looking at mounting options.

I dont have one but I do know of two people that have this very winch and absolutley love it. Have pulled with it time and time again with zero issues and with the price Amazon.com- 450 shipped with synth line, and water proof and the life time garuntee. I am ordering one after the holidays.

I think the bolt pattern is 10x4.5 and its somewhere around 25 inches wide and the widest IIRC. I think the listing on amazon has the dimensions.

ok thanks yeah I have heard great things about them for their price, I will see if I can run down the height also, looking at mounting this inside the stock bumper. I think it looks awesome and plus it's cheap for now until I can buy a bumper.

Edit: I feel stupid now that I see everything I need is there on amazon, thanks again, lol.

The recon is a sweet winch at a great price. 10,500 lbs with synthetic cable at that price? Win...

I run one...

Sits in the XRC bumper housing...had to trim the plastic airdam below the grill though.

WORD OF CAUTION- The winch is waterproof, but the solenoid is not. There is a good writeup on a full size chevy forum about how to waterproof it. Also, there is plenty of stuff here about how to mount your solenoid elsewhere.

I am on my second solenoid and Recon only warranties the electronics for a year. A new solenoid and remotes is only $175 though.

Looking in the Houston are for a:

2wd Steering Box (IDK which one)
Silver, passenger front fender (no flares)
Factory Air Box
Factory rear 2dr driveshaft

^^^ WRONG

The replacement solenoid is $90, a new motor is $75. So, basically you can REBUILD it for $165 or so... though if you seal or remote mount your solenoid, youll be good for years.
