MonsterMike Build

So I figured I start a second build. This time I'm starting with a 4 door Freedom Edition (hence MonsterMike instead of Oscar Mike) and I'm working to develop a LCOG build similar to my Squatch build. We'll see how it turns out. Anyway here is a picture of what I started with. Basic 4 door. At this point I have put on the Mopar High Clearance Flares. They look a little funny with the small tires but I think it will look better once I get 37s on it.

Next the plan is to add the fold down tail gate with the CJ panel inserted.

terrahawk and lilscorpion like this.

2012 JK 2 door
37" MTRs
17" Rugged Ridge XHD wheels
Fold down "Jeep" tailgate
Sport roll bar
River Raider front and rear bumpers
Cut Rock Rails
AVE hood
Custom High Clearance fenders
Line-X'ed

I plan to use hood hinges for the tailgate. I'll do almost exactly the same thing that I did on my 2 door. Here a pic of how that tailgate turned out.

37" MTRs
17" Rugged Ridge XHD wheels
Fold down "Jeep" tailgate
Sport roll bar

Gotcha ... so keepin' the stock handle to open it. I'm goin' a dif'rent route there but ain't exactly got it solved yet.

The hood hinges that the previous owner used on my junk's tailgate are bent to hell so I'm replacin' with the fact'ry CJ tailgate hinges ... and cables.

Yep. I like keeping the stock look but I had also thought about putting a handle on the inside of the tailgate to give it a cleaner look. However, that would have required a lot more fabrication. It was easy to use the factory handle as everything was already in place. I also like that the hinges lined up with the handle.

I was having some welder issues before Christmas and it was a bit of time to get that repaired. Anyway here is a short update. I started on slanting the windshield back but modifying the hing and cutting and rewelding the brackets. Also got a rear bumper put on. It is going to look a little funny for a while but it is moving forward again.

I Love the tailgate mod! I've been wanting to do this for awhile, I have the CJ tailgate and hinges but no means to do it. Body shops around here only do insurance work, not custom stuff. I'm in GA, can I drive my tailgate down to you?! LOL

yeah - I understand. IT is hard to find anyone to do custom work. You might do a search for welders in your area. You might find someone who can do it. It takes me 3 months or longer to get mine finished as I have a regular job. But i would work on jeeps all day if I could.

Still slow going but here is the plan for the new roll bar/cage. In the coming weeks I'll be working on converting the PVC to steel.... Also got a Crawler Concepts front bumper on. I like the look of it.

Hey boxturtle,
I currently don't have any concerns regarding the downtubes. Is there something I should be thinking about?? I'm open to suggestions. I'm not sure that I will be putting in the SRT steering wheel again.

Here is a start on the 2 in tube added in the front with PVC still in the back.
