I got this 4 LED brake light from my local auto parts store. It works well with my Bestop bikini setup. I might get the 10-12 LED light later, but this one is good for now, and it is cheap. The wiring is exposed under the bikini. I plan to wrap it up with tape and screw a wire holder in to keep it in place.

I copied AEV's CHMSL design and built it using a LitePLATE from OffRoadOnly and some 16ga flat stock and nuts and bolts I had laying around. I cut the "ears" off the LitePLATE and made an extension with the 16ga flat stock then bolted the assembly to an existing hole in my Expedition One tire carrier mount. Probably wouldn't work with anything other than a 5-spoke or 5-hole rim though.

I have the "Wonder Woman" invisible third brake light mod.

But thanks for reminding me I eventually have to address this issue.

These look good.. I really like CDavisJK's light.

I originally cut my factory one down to go thru the wheel
Finally relocated my 3rd brake light into the wheel

then when I switched to the RH bumper, I picked up a little LED trailer light and mounted it under the backup camera
The camera/light are mounted on a big recovery magnet on the tire mount.
Holds VERY securely but I can slide them back so I don't kill them mounting the spare or I can move the magnet to re-aim the camera if needed.

I too am using a ORO LitePlate... works well as a 3rd brake light and also illuminates my plate.

This is the only pic I can find from the rear with the brake applied.

I used a LED trailer light as it had the license plate light built in. I disconnected the side light part and painted over it with black plastic paint. The license plate, light and whole assembly is held on with a wing nut and comes off easy.

Looks good! Got any close up pics? Where'd you buy the light?

Hey Phil, are those the River Raider corners?

It's different?!

Story behind it is that my front door neighbor saw me installing the tire carrier and gave me the light, for helping him out on some other stuff. I wasn't planning to put it up, but I did. Then a couple of weeks later, the guy dies suddenly from an aneurysm. Tough old dude, served to tours in Vietnam, chased VietCong through rat tunnels with nothing but a pistol. Only guy I've ever met that wasn't scared of shit. So now it stays up in memory of him and his brother who is still listed as MIA-POW.

My dog is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to 99¢ a can. That's almost $7.00 in dog money.

I think I bought the light at Walmart, they come in a two pack and I used the one that had the license tag light built in. It took five minutes or so to disconnect the side marker light and paint that section with some plastic paint. I also painted the main lens with NiteShade paint. I made the bracket out of some scraps I had lying around, welded them together and added a bolt at the back. Sounds like a lot of work, but it was pretty quick and easy.
