Ditto on June, been a rather big winter in the Sierras, so it may not be clear by then. Assuming it is clear you should do OK.

Our group went through last Sept. The smallest rig of the bunch was an Unlimited Rubicon with 4" on 35s. He did take a beating: two trackbar breaks and welds at the threads, peeled stock rear diff cover open, and lots of skid plate and control arm mount smacks. Drop Sickchilly a note, he can give you the rundown. All else went well.

The trail was really tough early in the season last year; actually the toughest it has ever been. But a locked Jeep on 35s should have little trouble.

Here is some vids of me and a couple other JKs on the con last year. The White and Black JKs are Rubis with 35s and 2.5" of lift:

We went late last June and we had a Rubi on 35s.... he had some trouble and needed the strap a few times. While doable, 35s early in the season will be a challenge.

I really wish I had this kind of wheeling in my backyard and not 1500 miles away.

2010 Jeep Wrangler 2dr Rubicon with a part from everyone...

Great vids, brought back a lot of memories from our '04 run over there. I did it in a 4.5" sua YJ on the old BFG Mud 35s. You can do it!

i wanna go next time !!! please

In 2009 a crack commando wheelin' unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the South Florida underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as wheelers of fortune. If you have a problem. If no one else can help. And if you can find them. Maybe you can wheel with The 50/50 Off-Road Team.

Your undercarriage will take a beating, especially the fuel tank. I put a full bellypan, sliders, and better diff covers on my 4 dr before taking it on hard trails. The only place I had problems was at the big tree on the Big Sluice. The 4 dr (on 37's) squeezes through with about 1/2 inch to spare!

I'd be surprised if the trail is open in early June as I just got another 3 feet of snow here at the south shore. Better plan on late June unless we get some kind of heat wave.

My D60s and and big tires wouldn't fit through there. I had to go over the rock to the side

There is a lot less belly dragging with the 2-doors .

Last year, In July, there was still a good amount of snow on the Tahoe side. When it melts, it melts fast - then the mud bogs and swarms of skeeters make their appearance!

Heh, heh. My friend's TJ's front corner met it's demise due to a heavy foot and bad line on that tree.

Should be a breeze - they pretty much cobble rocked the first third of the trail as part of a effort to control silt run-off. Just stay on the trail and don't avoid the boulders, put a tire on them. Most of the newb damage is caused by trying to drive around the obstacles. JK's wouldn't be smashing up there undercarriages if they had a tire on the rock instead of running up under the rig. Drive slow, enjoy the scenery, you will have a blast.

Oh, and PM me, I'll tag along.

Hey Kevin, you slipped this in and I don't know if anyone can really appreciate it. Here is a picture of the plow line last week. Probably another four feet on top of that by now (for sure by Friday):

I still had stock skids on my YJ, smashed the crap out of 'em. Doinked both front fenders and peeled the rear diff cover back enough the first day to get a steady drip going. Soon as we got home it got the old company Poison Spider tube fenders, a Tera belly up skid (good for an additional 2.5" at the breakover) a Kilby tank skid and old Poison Spider rock rings, and 36" IROKs.

I talked with Bob at Ice House today. He said there was a solid seven feet of snow in the parking lot and growing in white out conditions! Woah! I can't make it up until Wednesday. It should be summer up there by then.

This is what the tahoe side looked like 5 days ago. We had 4-5 ft of snow since then. Its going to be a late start on the Con this year.
