Anyone have a S&W Sigma SW40?

I am considering this weapon for defense and sport. Anyone have any input?? such as type of ammo to use, reliability / jamming, etc. Thanks

I have one and love it.
GF hates to shoot but she can use this one without any problems.
I have run about 400 rounds of target ammo through it and have not had a problem.
This is also my carry gun.

Very compairable to Glock but I liked the feel better.
BTW Glock sued S&W over this handgun design.

I have one... It probably has 3000 rounds through it with no malfunctions. It has eaten every brand of ammo I have fed it. I carry it with Hydra-shocks, and have had excellent luck with those rounds when test-firing them. There is a lot of info to be found on the internet about different ways to modify the trigger pull on this weapon, and I think that S&W will do some kind of a trigger job for owners of older Sigmas either for free or cheap. Check out this site for reasonably priced lasers and products for the Sigma. http://www.auto-laser.com/store/products.asp?cat=80

Great gun.

I like mine a lot. I have had no problems with it. I own a S&W 357 Magnum revolver, S&W Sigma 40, Bersa Thunder 380 and my newest to the collection, Ruger LCP 380. My favorite is the Sigma 40 though. Today me and two of my friends went to academy in Port Arthur, Texas and picked up 22 boxes of Monarch ammo for the 380's and I purchased 10 boxes of 40 caliber for the Sigma.

2008 JK, Stone White, Rubicon wheels, BF Goodrich KM tires, Rough Country spacers, Grab handles, Daystar hood latches, Daystar lower switch panel, Rugged Ridge grill inserts, KC Daylighters installed with KC windshield mounts. More mods to come... Rock rails (which I am looking for some Rubi takeoffs), winch, front bumper, summer top, etc.

friend had one. they are cheap and reliable, which is an unusual mix. but, the trigger was complete crap. very heavy, and nothing you can do about it without affecting the reliability.

wanna bet

I have fixed many Sigmas of their 11tymillion lb trigger pull with no issues at all.
There are unneeded springs in the trigger pack that are only there to increase the trigger pull. Removing them solves the problem.

If any one need directions on how just ask.
This 1st Gen 9mm has thousands of rounds through it with no issues or fail to fire at all.

I have one. I'd love to know how to fix it. Mine is a 2nd gen. .40, though. Don't know if they are the same or not.

Done! Took about 10 min. It does feel a little better, now to the range to try it out.
