I use these guys for my .223 and .50 bmg:

http://www.thehuntingshack.com/catal...ail/index.html

Call them first to see if what you want is in stock or how long the wait is. Also, you can check their website to see if they will be at a gun show near you.

Spoke to a few friends who ordered from online places.

Even though it says backordered, as long as they don't tell you they aren't taking backorders, go ahead and order it. Most have gotten it within a week..week and a half.

Wally world around here stays sold out of EVERYTHING except a few odd rifle calibers.
I always look for .40 whenever I go.
one of the local WMs had an assload of.22 the other day - for $4 a box!

LOL

The "magazine vs. clip" controversy raises it's ugly head!

FWIW, I agree with usmcdoc14. A clip is a small strip of metal that holds several rounds together that can then be inserted into a magazine.

A magazine can be removeable as in an AR15, or it can be fixed as in an M1 Garand.

At least IMHO.

Ammo sources

I recommend as I have used them numerous times and shipping prices are great www.natchezss.com (Natchez Shooters Supplies) also doesn't hurt to look at like www.cabelas.com - I find that www.cheaperthandirt.com is crazy high prices on stuff since the election....but check out Natchez.

I keep roaming my local Walmarts for FMJ ammo...recently I got lucky and they had 14 boxes of .40 in the shelf - needless to say I bought them all
Gander Mountain usually has a good supply of .223 and .308

How would they serialize a shell exactly? The brass is a given, the projectile on the other hand would be challenging to say the least. I know from a ballistics perspective projectile to barrell can be matches but even that has it's weaknesses.

BTW, I assume you kept the Rubi in light of the Postal cutback situation. Still have the Rubi I hope?

I'm probably confused Rubi, thought you had posted that you worked in the US Postal field, something with hours were being cutback and you were contemplating selling the Rubi or something like that. Maybe it was someone else, thought you were the same 07Rubi person

That would be a steal out here, I went to Gander Mtn. last week they got a pallet of .45 delivered in the morning, completely out by 5:30pm. I found some .40 and they had 150 rounds of 30 carbine left but that was it!
