Mine does the same thing. I can turn the cruise on and the "cruise" light comes on in the cluster then hit the set button and it does nothing. Its a real PITA since I do alot of interstate driving.

I have seen others on diffrent forums with the same problem. I think that the contacts on the switch are cheep. Pull the switch and use a meter to check?

Are you having sensor problems (ESP, traction control type stuff). When I lifted my jeep my sensors would go crazy with every turn. Had a bad speed sensor which knocked out my whole cruise control.

I'm in that same boat at the moment. I think I have a bad ABS sensor. I'll go get it checked out eventually.

My abs sensor wire got cut, and that killed my cc.

bringing it waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back from the dead but... Have any of you guys with the above listed problems had any dash lights come on to indicate bad wheel sensor etc? My cruise control stopped working but I've not no codes... Checked with both an OBDII and the ignition method and all of my fuses are fine... I replaced the switch and still nothing... I haven't checked the continuity of the clockspring yet but was hoping someone had another idea for me before I try that...

Spryan81's last activity here was in 2013... I'm not optimistic you'll get a response.

Try searching for a more recent thread on this issue, or hopefully someone with more knowledge than I will be along shortly.

I am having the same issue. Surprised there isn't more info. We've changed the vacuum pump and the abs sensor which did not fix it. No codes. Thinking about taking into the dealer if can't figure out before our Rubicon trip.

If anyone has any updated info, please let me know.

I'll share the same.

Thx.

Erratic cruise control problem is one of the symptoms of a bad clockspring. Just received a recall letter from Jeep yesterday. They cover everything but the problem is there aren't enough parts available to do the repair so they'll call when ready. OR you can DIY. Youtube video available on how to. Clocksprings available on Ebay way cheaper that Jeep.

I noticed that this recall is for 2007-2010. 2010+ is for RHD only. Mine is a 2012. Curious if it could be the same issue?

They still use the same exact clock spring that they are recalling. My buttons would occasionally not work before I changed it out and now they never have a problem.

Do you recommend changing out myself
Or trying to take to dealer?

I replaced my clock spring last fall. About $200 from the dealer. It's cheaper elsewhere but I didn't have the time to wait for shipping. It took about an hour to replace it.

I hate going to the dealer, they are 30 miles away, I have to leave the jeep and someone has to pick me up. And then I have to go get it. For me it was worth it. YRMV

Good write up at the link on how to do it yourself.

If you can turn a wrench just do it yourself. I think it took me 30 minutes taking it slow.
