I just installed some ProComp Motorsports 9" H11 Driving Lights (http://www.trailduty.com/product_info.php?products_id=482), and they are big!

They are also very bright, due to the large reflector, and are the brightest 55w lamps I've seen. The beam pattern is not only very wide spread, but also reaches a long way.

The body is ABS, the lens is glass and they come with a clear lens guard.

I was never impressed with the older ProComp lights, which always struck me as cheaply made, but these are well made and very effective. There is also a 7" slimline version (http://www.trailduty.com/product_info.php?products_id=481) and a 9" HID version (http://www.trailduty.com/product_info.php?products_id=483) available.

They look a little big (odd) on the JK to me, but they are so bright that I live with the look.

In my application the 8's are too big so I am selling them off to get the 6's. But even though yours are obviously HUGE you seemed to have pulled it off nicely.

Phild, I think they look great, the front view of the Rubi carries them fine. I almost bought the Procomp's at my local A & A Auto Store.

HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT THE WIRING ? I'll give you the long answer first, then the quick answer.

I'd already installed some Delta lights, so in this I just used that wiring. When I installed that wiring I first just used the stock fog light wiring, but there must be some sort of current overload device as the lights would go on and off every 3-5 seconds. So I used the stock fog light wiring to trigger a relay and ran the source from the battery through the relay to the lights.

Doing it from scratch you simply need a relay, a switch, and some wiring. Run a + to the switch (I personally like to use an ignition controlled + so when the ignition is off so are the lights). Run the other side of the switch to the relay trigger. Run the relay switched source from the battery, then to the lights.

Most wiring kits come with pretty clear instructions and it is all really easy to do.

really nice looking phil. just a question. quite a few years ago a friend used to wheel with us in a dune buggy that he made. he put aircraft landing lights on that thing and at night they were unbeatable. he got them free by going to the local airport and taking them off of a wrecked plane. i am thinking of doing this. anyone else doing this that you know of.

Just remember that, with the exception of HID's, more light generally requires more power.

Which mirror brackets are those?They are some old TJ ones that I adapted. I use Olympic Safari mirrors and they work fine.

my buddies cousin has aircraft lights on his tj on a light bar across the top he was in the airforce and he need two extra optima cells two run them he also had a total of six!!!

You can say that again.It's actually changed a little more since that pic, just some trimming of the bumpers and sheet metal here and there, extending the bump stops, etc.
