Here are a few pics my wife shot yesterday in Ocala..... some have been cropped and all reduced, but i have the originals if anybody wants them emailed. She left a little after lunch with the camera so I only have the first half of the day. We have lots but these are 9 of my favorites:
(only truck to complete a full pull!)
(this hill was huge, the pic doesn't do it justice)

I wish I would have went... I had planned to go with Miami Crawlers but Thursday night I got hit with what seemed to be the fraken Swine Flu in my stomach and been at home for past 3 days... even missed Friday at work, haven't missed a Friday shift in 13 years.
I hope some one has some more pics...
How did JeepZilla do? I saw that thing at Jeeptober Fest last year doinf the extreme course in 2 wheel drive... lol Bastage!

FL-Mitchels, nice to meet you yesterday. This is Jeff the President of Mid Florida Jeep Club (with the silver JK).
How do you like that TJ with all 4's off the groud? Probably one of the sweetest and nicest built Jeeps Ive ever seen. At 9am you couldnt have paid him 40 grand for that Jeep. It ran flawlessly and was, I believe ranked 2 after the first 3 events....
You know when you pass the house on the left, go thru the gate and then there is a hill immediatley to the left. Well they were running the course in reverse. He thought there was another set of whoops before he dropped over the hill. There wasnt. He hit it going at least 40 and never hit the ground. When he launched he hit the brakes and that caused him to nose over. He slammed into the ground full force just catching the push bar before landing on his roof. What a shame I was really pulling for him. He's a South Florida guy.

As far as the rest of the day...kind of disappointing but I did have a good time. I saw Smokey there, he was up visiting the fam. There was only 10 entered and half broke. Jeep Zilla was well Jeep Zilla. He's always on the chip and it really didnt do what I expected. It pulled the dump truck between 1/4 and 1/2 way up the hill. They had technical difficulties on the last event. He couldnt make it up the hill, couldnt get the winch out, finally got it and made it thru. On the 4th event he wrapped his axle and we thought he was done since he didnt run the 5th.
Truthfully the power wagon kicked everyones butt. That thing was a beast and very well built. The buggy's had a good showing too. Here is the link to all the pics. http://s195.photobucket.com/albums/z148/rooster5333/SETTC%20April%2009/
Oh man oh man... I feel bad for that TJ... :bawling:
Thanks for the awesome pictures and report Rooster... Wish I could have been there. See you soon enough!

Wow, very cool pics and good story. Sorry for the TJ's luck. That ain't gonna buff out.
Was that a Rock Hard Cage? It looks like it did it's job, but definitely ain't reusable. Doesn't really matter though, since it looks like the whole Jeep is yard sale.
Glad everybody walked away. That's the important part.

Yep, the TJ was my favorite for the day. He seemed like he was holding back a little in the dumptruck pull but after that he was nuts.... as indicated by the "aerobatics" in my first post. My wife and the camera left just after he rolled over so i didn't get any pics after that. Here are the last three of him I have... we were sitting in front of the rock pile.... for those not familiar with the course as I remember he topped this hill, had a more or less straightaway to accelerate, and went off a short but very steep hill that got him.
The course was difficult to photograph... you kinda had to pick your spot and stick with it. The huge hill he was ascending in the first post was part of this same course run earlier.

These were taken in the morning prior to the pull, while everybody was still "clean"...

Wow, 30 seconds to launch. Man you caught him right as he was headed out to meet fate.
That power waggon was the sh*t! It had a hydraulic front end that would move in and out 2 feet. Ive never seen anything like it. He really did have the best set up rig. The Titan was pretty cool but pretty looong. After the TJ went down I was pulling for the CJ. He was up against the wall so I knew he was going to give it hell. SNAP there went the axle. I like the nitrous set up buggy but second to the TJ my favorite was the big block chevy buggy. He wasnt afraid to air it out!
FL-M great job with those pics. You really got them taking off those jumps!
