Well im preping it for paint now. The gun is a mossberg OU. I cant decide between a desert, woodland or a multicam sorta in between both.

Testors applied with a brush........ LOL, No Im going to use krylon on this gun if I wanted to use duracoat I would have to order it ( I dont want to do that). So Im going to home depot tomorrow to get me some rattle cans. But what ever camo I decide to do I will be using pine needles as stencils.

Reason I ask is "plain" spray paint will not last long at all.
BUT..
if you bake it on the metal parts at 300* for an hour or so it makes it a LOT harder to scratch off.

Just don't bake the plastic parts at that high of a temp

I have AK's that I have sprayed and baked on with Rustolium "textured" in black that required sandblasting in order to get it off.

Thanks for the info, this gun is just a beater and I painted the furniture a gold color back when I worked in the body shop. I just got board with it and decided a camo would be cool. But baking is a good idea Ill give it a shot.

Sweet. Looks good and blends well. I lke the pine needle idea, I may have to do something similar to my old Mossberg riot gun just for sh!ts and grins, what other media do people use for patterns?

That thing came out real nice. You might consider some sort of sealant or clear coat... Duracoat (http://www.houtsenterprises.net/dur_supplies.html)makes a nice clear coat as well as a true lube coat that might help protect your weapon.

I bet USMC Doc can give a few tips on how to make it last....

Again - it looks great.

I used Duracoat flat clear on it. Its held up now for almost 5 months with only a few scratches on the action. thanks for all the complements
