The vinyl of the JKF sticker is so cheap/thin, I had a hell of a time trying to get it off
http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w7/rebeljennie/steves%20tire%20carrier1/DSC_3953.jpg
So we resorted to more drastic (and appropriate) measures

Yup, that worked

we were working on mounting a custom spare tire carrier (RockRash4x4 prototype). The carrier is on, but not ready to show pictures of it yet- still more work to do on it.

Ya'll must have jumped on that sticker first thing... it was long gone when I got there. Now just take the flame to the sticker on HippyJ's heap.

Cool cant wate to see it:beer:
you can also go to your local body /parts store and there is a rubber wheel you can get that mounts to your drill.
it's mainly used for pinstripe removal but works well with all decals
and will not harm your paint

I’m taking my JKO (not JKF) stickers off. The font doesn’t match and you can’t read the forum URL anyway. Nothing against the forum, they just don’t look very good on the Jeep. I'm not much into stickers to begin with.

Looks like you put it in the wrong place Alec. It's too far forward down there. They seem to look better on the cowl corner:D
Mine are hanging on the cork board in our computer room. I just removed the X stickers over the weekend and would put them in that spot or under the Unlimited. Wife isn't really into stickers so for now they remain in the house.

Are the shocks upside down alec? I know initially they were designed that way but I thought they reversed them pretty quickly to have the res on top due to damage/rubbing etc...

They did redesign them and I kept meaning to send them back to fox and have them swapped. In the mean time I wheeled the crap out of it like this and nothing rubbed so I left them like it :D

With the help of mother nature providing 90* temps and plenty of sunshine, my stickers practically "fell" off the jeep today. no worries jkf-tard management, i won't be showing your precious logo in my new home. :thefinger:
and just for the record, mr edwin, robneckjeep cost you another whole section of your site. how do you like them apples? :thefinger: great job in your selection.

damn i guess ill have to document taking mine off
i think ill start with the blow torch method and then put the jeep in the cold shower crying on the floor and scratching its own skin off, just trying to remove the stench that once was...my poor jeep took it right up the tail pipe

I left mine on- sort of! The JK one has no ref. to the web site so I'm not concerned about that one and my rig is a JK afterall. The East Coast one I removed the bottom "jk-forum.com" part of it so as not to send some poor bastard over to the cult and I figured that I am on the East Coast! I paid for them- unfortunately- so I didn't want it to be a total waste of money, plus in Oct. it will be priceless the confusion of the fact I have "pirate 4x4" and soon JKO decales on with my moded jkf decales! I'm weird perhaps but I hate wasting money I don't have!!

i was debating weather to take off the JK sticker or not but i think i'm going to keep it. it doesn't point anyone to the website so i think it's ok. I like the design. My JKO stickers are going on as well though whenever i get some spare time..

Like YKJK said...just go to the body shop supplier...Buy the 3" rubber pad. It has a small stud sticking out of the end...Just chuck that into your hand drill and go for it...Trust me.. I use to work at a custom body shop and thats all we used... IT will take everything off except the clear coat or the paint...
Works the fastest! Then just take some wax and greese remover and wipe that area...Good as new. OR you can wipe it with denatured alcohol. I"ve stripped all the gum and stickers off an entire 06' GMC 4 door 3/4 ton in about 20 min.
I've got a bunch of these..I'd post some pics but for some reason this forum won't let me.
JKDoc
09-07-2009, 03:15 PM
I initially pealed off the outer blackstriping and left the JK. Then, after I was banned, I did not want any reference to that site on my Jeep. So, I whispered to Lucy what had happened and , I'll be damned, she just kind of shook and shed the JK like the fake tattoo it was. Now she is all clean and happy again.
Besides, how many CJ or YJ owners do you see with a sticker proclaiming what model Jeep they have. Most of them figure if you don't already know your just a poser anyway. Maybe we should take on that attitude. If you can't recognize a JK, I'm not going to help you.

Stickers suck is just my basic Rule of Thumb. Don' take take it personal guys (no jewelry, no tat's, just plain John). I want to remove some I have (sticker, not tat's) and have heard hi pressure water (maybe 3-5K psi might work). Dunno, anybody tried it?

I'm new here...BeerMonkeY sent me from PA-Wheeling.
I had a run in the other day with a post I put up on jkf about a place I wheeled at, and the SR. Moderator removed the post because I mentioned that I didn't think it was legal to wheel at this particular place eventhough there are a bunch of trails and other vehicals there as well. I was called a "jackass" through several pm's by the SR. Moderator....Is this the Eddie you speak of?

i dont suppose this place was once a town that burned down?
if so, i got the same treatment by a mod. even though there were tons of other 4x4's driving there and any time we came to a "no trespassing" we turned around and i specifically mentioned that... oh well... F them!

That was a mod, not "the Eddie" aka WOL. They have a policy, probably a good one of not allowing any posts of wheeling in places you should not. It is a good idea to not wheel where you should not. Helps keep open what we have. That said sounds like you were driving in a local area that is pretty popular. You called attention by stating you thouht it might be illegal. I got banned because I tried to post a link to a blog that called out "the Eddie" for the liar he is. Attention is not always the best thing to have.

Brief explaination: there is one jk forum where you can say anything you want about any product (even sponsors) and there is another forum where you can ONLY talk abotu paying sponsors and all posts are edited and all private messages are read and edited for content. Geuss which one you're on right now?
