: JK stock locker mod
NW-JK 02-28-2009, 11:18 AM i recently came accross some info claiming with some minor wiring mods you could use the stock lockers in any transfer case position, anyone know if there's any truth to this and if so at what risk to the vehicle (other than diff damage due to missuse)?
Eugene 02-28-2009, 12:35 PM Yes the stock switch bypass is true, I've installed it on my rig. You can lock the lockers anytime any x-fer case position. Think of it as a locker lightswitch. The wiring diagram for doing it is posted elsewhere, so you should be able to find it.:grinpimp:

Chris85xlt 05-18-2009, 10:23 AM after doing the locker mod, does the factory locker indicating lights on the dash still work when u engage and disengage the lockers?
PhilD 05-18-2009, 12:32 PM after doing the locker mod, does the factory locker indicating lights on the dash still work when u engage and disengage the lockers? The dash lights will just flash when the locker switches are bypassed and the locker is engaged with the bypass switch. The system sees the locker is engaged, but also sees that the switch is not, so it flashes, just the same as when you turn the factory switch off and the locker stays engaged for a while.

so basicly ur saying the dash lights just flashes whether the locker is engaged or not?
how about when your in 2wd?

Light flashes when your added switch activates the locker. 2wd, 4wd, neutral, whatever. It's a direct switch.

gt4660 05-20-2009, 01:38 AM What are the pros and cons of doing the Ground Switched With Relays vs the Positive Switched With Relays??
I would like to go ahead and do this, Just wondering which is better?
Thanks
PhilD 05-20-2009, 05:04 AM I've heard of one person that blew the factory locker fuse by engaging the factory switches and bypass switches at the same time using the positive switched method. Never heard of it happening with the negative switched method.
Chris85xlt 07-14-2009, 12:27 PM quick noob question. im about to do the Simple Non Illuminated Switch override. Where do i find the Violet/Dark blue and Violet/Light green wires? am i suppose to take the dash apart and get the wires directly from the locker switches or pull couple of wires through the firewall from the locker relays found under the hood?
Thanks
PhilD 07-14-2009, 12:46 PM I spliced into the wires at the relays, they are at the side of the battery.
