Preview: See well-preserved mercury mine along scenic forest road. Stock SUVs can reach Sunflower Mine. Difficult portion of the trail begins later. It becomes rocky and narrow with tight brush in places. One narrow shelf road with loose rock. Slippery when wet.

We will leave 9:15AM and head 38 miles north to Sunflower Mine loop. This trail is rated a 3.0 and min 31" tires and a rear traction device would be nice, Also front/rear recovery points.

This is a all day trip, expect 7-8 hrs to get through and bring a water and a great attitude!

Its only a 700+ drive!!!!!! Yes we are located in scottsdale,AZ..so most of our trips are planned around the dealer!! Maybe your local dealer might be interested at supporting the jeep community.....

Sorry I didn't get to meet you. I was in the first group of 38-40 Jeeps, it was a lot bigger turn-out than I was expecting. This was the first time taking my new JK off the pavement, a had a great time! I had never met anyone from this group so I was a lil' overwhelmed with the amount of people, only talked to 8-10 of them but everyone was really friendly and helpful. I hope to get invited to another sometime soon...

I was about in the middle of the group at the beginning, this is a shot of the people in front of me. There was a couple up around the corner that didn't get in this photo.

This guy broke his rear drive-shaft at the bottom of the mountain and had to be towed out, probably over 2 hrs of being tugged out and still had a smile on his face and was willing to let the new guy take a photo of the damage (Great people).
