Rebuilt a 2007 Jeep Wrangler with a delpoyed driver's and SRS airbag deployed and functioning horn. Replaced driver's airbag and clockspring with new OE parts and now the horn doesn't work. Assuming the clockspring was defective, replaced with another OE part (dealership warranted). Airbag light is still on and horn still not working. Avoided turning the steering wheel to prevent damage to clockspring during install. Temporarily bypassed steering wheel to pass safety inspection. Any ideas on why the horn is not working?
With the airbag and column covers off you should be able to test for ciruit continuity through the clock spring. Work through the connections to ensure it is intact. There in the one plug on the front of the clockspring and then one of the plugs on the rear that send the clockspring signals such at the horn switch function over to the cluster module for interpretation.
My guess is that there is still a miss in the connection from the horn switch and the cluster that typically recieved the symbol.
That being said, I do not know if there is anything that must be re-set by the dealer after and airbag is deployed.
