Any ideas? I wanna go wheeling at some point in December despite the fact that it's a hard month to organize anything in. Anyone wanna wheel/camp somewhere?

I had an idea about a new years eve campout and then wheel on Jan. 1. They say that whatever you do on Jan 1 you'll do all year long. Personally, I wanna go wheeling, eat a steak, drink some beer, and come home and get laid. Sounds like the makings of a good year.

Post up if you have any wheeling ideas for the next 40 or so days. Only thing I have committed to is the Winter Haven Parade the weekend of the 5th. But that's only on Friday night.

Theres no way I can fit it in (thats what she said) in December. My on call schedule has just gone to every other week now so I'm screwed untilthey hire some rookies and promote my next partner.

I think December is screwed...but I have two Winter Runs in January.

A few of us from St. Aug/Jax are heading out to Ocala for camping/wheeling the weekend of the 6th. We've been kicking around Hardrock, but most of us are limping with injuries for the time being.

I've been nursing my broken back for a couple months now so testing my center of gravity at HardRock is probably out. :bawling:

We usually go to the extreme North end of the forest and camp off a Jeep trail. We have somewhat of a secret spot (not really) that we go to and setup camp. It has access to water for kayaks, fishing etc.

I sort of forgot something important this weekend: My son's birthday lol.

Oh well.....now Im shooting for weekend after.

Both of you guys would be fine. We went for the first time last month (also with a TJ on 35's/no snorkel) and as long as you don't get stupid you would have no problem. A little lift and tires is all you need this time of year. I don't have a snorkel and a couple of waterholes I skirted the edge and when I checked at the end of the day I did not get any water in the stock airbox. If you hit the hole straight on like Hitmoney did then you need a snorkel.

Well, in all honesty, it doesn't look as bad as Ive seen Richloam get. Post up next time you go there and I'll see if it works. I dont mind trail riding that involves water crossing and mud, but it does get old when the entire trail is pretty much one long river. That happens a LOT in Richloam and I typically turn around.

I agree. That has been my experience at Bear Island and the reason I like Corbett better. More trail and less boating.

I went to a Meet & Greet last night and a couple of the guys there went to Corbett since our trip and said there is even less water now.

It is looking good that we are going to be there again on Sunday, December 21st. Some of the guys are talking about making a weekend of it and camping there Saturday night but I will most likely drive up from Miami on Sunday morning. All are welcome.

Unless we get a lot of rain between now and then, which is highly unlikely, there won't be any water higher than your bumper, if that. I don't have a snorkel so you could follow me.

Well, I got back from Ocala NF. We camped up in the NE section and hit a bunch of the trails, and cleared a few that looked like they haven't been driven on in years.

On a cool side note, I saw a couple of black bear cubs. I didn't see mama, but I wasn't looking to get mauled either. This is a first for me-seeing a bear in the wild. :grinpimp:

I wanna do the 21st run but it's not in the cards for me - football takes precedence. Take pics.

Cool - saw my first florida bear in Ocala a few years ago as well. Wish I coulda gone. Had 2 parades and a 5 year old's birthday. I'm gonna try to go hiking tomorrow then sneak in a short ride in richloam afterwards - even though it's hunting season. Hope I dont come home w/ any new holes in my jeep in 12 gauge shape.

lol no..bucs game.

I did sneak off and go riding in richloam yesterday after hiking nearby. Trails were bone dry cept two mud holes that were so bottomless looking that I avoided them. Downside was not getting my Jeep all muddy. Upside was that I didnt get my Jeep all muddy.

I did toy w/ a water moccasin at one point. That was fun.
