: 28th Annual Hump N Bump PICS*
vegasjeep 11-09-2008, 10:20 PM This year was a really great great time. Lots of trails, lots of action, and lots of great people.
I have to tell everyone that Bob, Jason, and Cody from Treks is the best darn group of guys ever. Great wheelers, great spotters, and just darn right great guys. Hard to find these days. Not to mention that an on the trail tie rod repair Bob was willing to get down and dirty and get it fixed.
heres a few pics. I am trying to find a better way to upload them without having to resize them.
THis is the camping area, and a few vehicles. I have some more pics of RVS but have not uploaded them. Quite a few RVers this year.......

how about the nice sticker I installed on the H3?
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g247/vegasjeep3/IMG_8118.jpg
OK, we are going to skip all the BS... Ill post the pic before it is posted by others... LOL
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g247/vegasjeep3/IMG_8148.jpg
Ok now for the story...
First obstacle, first day, no one else would try it... Actualy Butch tried to line it up afterwards....
I pulled up the waterfall as you can see the angle of the people standing it was pretty freaking steep.
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g247/vegasjeep3/IMG_8139.jpg
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g247/vegasjeep3/IMG_8140.jpg
You notice in this last pic that my Rear Tires never made it to the rock wall...........
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g247/vegasjeep3/IMG_8144.jpg
That is because It was so steep I was resting and ripping off my tail gate. YES, It was that steep :?
SO I was resting on my spare tire and trying to climb up. I gave up when I heard the odd noise and took an easy tug from the only H3 at the event. Of course she was VERY VERY glad to do the pulling. I did however tell her she could not be bragging about the tug... especially when she did not try the obstacle....... or the rest of the obstacles that day :rotflmao:
vegasjeep 11-09-2008, 10:30 PM The resulting damage...

A couple Jeeps built by Treks Offroad and T&T Customs
Cody drove this one. Very nice and built rig.

Jason drove this Jeep. I believe that Jason is Bobs son. Very very good skilled driver. He listens well.

A very tight squeeze at the top. Only 2 of us were able to make it up without a tug. Jason from Treks and myself. It was much harder then it appeared.

vegasjeep 11-09-2008, 10:44 PM A quick trail repair on a bent Tie Rod. Bob from Treks stepped up and made sure we got him fixed quickly. For those who do not know a hi lift jack handle will strengthen a bent tie rod enough to get home on.

scrogg 11-09-2008, 11:18 PM Nice pics. Just curious, are your wheels actual beadlocks or the street versions? Ans at what PSI are you running your tires at?
wanderingtrail 11-10-2008, 05:03 AM Nice pictures. I needed that tailgate picture to hopefully convince the wife of my christmas list item....;)
Ron
kerryp 11-10-2008, 05:54 AM those are some knarly looking trials, looks like fun. Thanks for the great pics
vegasjeep 11-10-2008, 07:13 AM I have a ton more pics. I have a few sequences of pics taken that if you scroll fast makes a nice video :)
I have real beadlocks and run 6.5 pds of air in them.
The terrain out there is very different in different areas. Lots of great obstacles and lots of VERY challenging obstacles.
If anyone would like to come out wheeling I can ALWAYS get a few people together to head out there.
RotorHead 11-10-2008, 07:57 AM Great pics Vegas. Sorry about the tailgate. That's why I don't carry my spare on there any more. I bent my Warrior Relocation bracket and barely dimpled my tail gate in a very similar situation. I just throw mine in the back and strap it down until I get a real bumper.

Ya, life goes on. It will not be to big of a deal once i have my tire carrier on but for now Ill have to replace it. I bent, hammered, and manipulated the best i can just to keep it shut and to get the window to clear without to much pressure of breakage... LOL
mcnaught6 11-10-2008, 09:21 AM great pics and narrative.
dontcha think you could've waited for another jeep to show up to give you the tug?
vegasjeep 11-10-2008, 09:41 AM oh yes, but she was giddy when she realized I needed a tug! I'll upload the pic of her face when she found out LOL
wanderingtrail 11-10-2008, 03:06 PM I know that bad charma struck her on the trail.. Same spot as last year.

you are correct, the only obstacle she tried... she failed like before. In fact it was the easiest of a 5 step waterfall.

Still- how emasculating to be strapped by a woman in an hUMMER! :D
You know I'm kidding. That looks like a pretty tight squeeze on that trail. Two things vegas. I only saw your JK and a yellow JK in the pics. Were there any other JK's out there?
How are you liking your Poly Performance set-up. I know it must be worlds apart from the Fool Traction kit. Just wondering as it looked like you gave it one he!! of a workout.
Oh yea...Can you salvage the tailgate or will it have to be replaced? Any damage to the tub on the hinge side? This was the first JK that I've seen that happen to.
Thanks for sharing the pics. Really looks like a lot of fun (and some puckering).

There were a couple JKs but no one really wheeling any of them.
funny you said that. One of the excuses i heard about the Full Traction kit is I was told i abused the kit. YES abused the kit. I have had ZERO issues with my Poly kit. I mean none. Not even one hiccup.
Tailgate is not salvageable. it is creased both lengthwise and vertically. THe hinges appear to still be straight. Really sucks as I am going to be tube fendering the rig soon and would have preferred body damage as it would be covered up and fixed. The tailgate I would have NEVER though about getting body damage.... LOL
rooster 11-11-2008, 01:04 PM Awesome pics! Im hitting the trails in GA (River Rock) next week and I cant wait!
