Sounds good! I'm hoping you can make it Stacy! Thanksgiving weekend though - that will be a tough sell to the fam!

This definitely won't be a "hardcore" wheeling trip.. I know Signal Peak isn't really too difficult and from what I understand, Slick Rock isn't too bad, either..

works on my phone and my computer.

it snows in the "high desert" but i wouldnt call it the mountains. it snow at 29 palms last year. Which was awesome since there are no snowplows for 60 miles!

Yes, of course we did and I love that place! If I had more cash on me I would have stayed there......but that wasn't fate!! See we left a little after Eric(Woody99) and had some trail blockages(more vehicles going to Uncle Toms) Anyway we get past that and I come up on Eric broken down. His belt tensionor melted and he had NOTHING(cooling, braking, charging, or steering) So I TOWED Him about 7 miles!! By the way he's got a Hemi, 60's and it's a 4 door!! Any idea on what caused it to melt? Think the bearings froze up? IF it is like our 3.8's the tensioner pulley is the same as the idler pulley, you can change just the pulley on it and napa has them for $18 or so. Just ask for the idler pulley for the 5.7 or 3.8 they are the same.

Funny, I had a similar experience, wheelin with a buddy, at Mormon Emigrant Trail. The belt tensioner seized up and broke the serp. belt. Towed him out to SlyPark Rd. He had no steering or braking. There were trucks sliding towards me, coming from the other direction.

I say carry a $18 pulley as spare and its good to have a spare belt with you for $30 that you will eventually need to change anyhow.

Slick 50 was an engine additive back in the day (hell, it may still be around), that was supposed to coat the inside of the cylinder walls, filling in any grooves in the cylinder walls, therefore restoring compression, and bringing older engines back to life.

I'm not sure if the product exists anymore, but our shop had made an overall determination that it wasn't effective, in fact in most cases, it contridicted it's theory, causing less compression. As a piston ring becomes broken into a fresh cylinder wall, those groves become a fingerprint with the grooves in the cylinder wall. Together, they create a good "seal" for lack of a better term, inside the cylinder, allowing the motor to build compression. If you fill in the grooves in the cylinder wall (without replacing piston rings at the same time), then one is making the "seal" between the rings and the cylinder 50% effective, or worse.

Having said all of that, Slick 50 is one hell of a lubricant, although it can't be used for many things... It's slippery shit!
