In Nov. 2001 my girlfriend and I spent 5 days exploring canyons in Zion and a few days going to other parks in the area. We didn't want to leave.
At the end of the road that goes into Bryce there's a trail head that leads to...I think it was called stormy peak? I forget, but anyway, at the end of the trail is whats believed to be the worlds oldest tree. A gnarled old bristle cone pine thought to be over 2000 years old. What struck me was how tame the wildlife was. We were able to hand feed deer and walk right through a flock of wild turkeys.
