Yeah, it flexes pretty good
http://www.jkowners.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=2560&stc=1&d=1221956264
Lift is a homebrew based off of 4 polyperf 3" springs and synergy shocks along with teraflex 2.5 spacers in the front. stock arms and a few other bits from other manufacturers.
Total lift is about 5.5", rides good, flexes great
has just a bit of bump steer with the 35"s tho, so it's getting PP front arms and TF high steer/track bracket and a fox stabilizer

afoulk 10-21-2008, 04:59 PM sn4cktime, how do you like the RC2.5" lift? and did you get the shocks with it? Did you need anything else that the kit didn't include? I was thinking about either this kit simply for the low price and I wanna try their 2.2 shocks, or I was looking at teraflex's 2.5" spring lift and maybe getting the RC shocks to go with that. I only plan on running 35's eventually along with the Xenon flares, so clearance with either kit shouldn't be an issue. I'm just worried about having that factory rake with the RC kit once I had a heavier front bumper and winch.

HITMONEY 10-22-2008, 02:22 PM Looking good hitmoney, just the front armor?
The front and rocker for now.. I already told Mel I was gonna be doing the rear soon as well.
These things are ALOT of work to get on and looking good. It cost more to prep, paint and install than the fenders originally cost, alot more... and that is having it done by a friend!
Granted, I went the extra mile... factory matched paint and LOTS of prep, texturized the side bars, powder coated the hardware.
The end result was well worth it. ORE makes some seriously bad ass components and Mooses512's body shop did an incredible job installing them.

I will take some good photos this weekend at Jeeptoberfest and make a thread about the Armor next week. I'll get Moose512 in there to share the install experience.. LOL

sn4cktime 10-24-2008, 02:11 AM sn4cktime, how do you like the RC2.5" lift? and did you get the shocks with it? Did you need anything else that the kit didn't include? I was thinking about either this kit simply for the low price and I wanna try their 2.2 shocks, or I was looking at teraflex's 2.5" spring lift and maybe getting the RC shocks to go with that. Not to highjack but saves a bunch of PM's.
I really like my kit. On JK-forum some people have complained about flighty/drifty steering with it but I think it's how they did their install. Tighten everything except the front swaybar while it's in the air and it'll go fine. I did the rear and then the front. I had each end completly in the air on the frame rails on jack-stands. Don't do one side at a time, reconnect everything in pairs. Set it down, re-check torque, adjust draglink (AKA recenter steering) if needed. My steering was bang-on post lift. Certain people are arguing you should only torque after setting the vehicle down to align the bushings. Seems those people have issues. I listened to a heavy duty mechanic who I used to do big-rig axle rolls with. He said droop it, install it, torque it, then set it down. If the bushings have the vehicle's pressure on them they can be twisted ever so slightly which leads to them not being torqued to pressure which leads to a few foot/lbs of slop - hence crap steering. My jeep sticks to the road, has very little bump steer considering the size of tires, has full steering range, and handles perfect at slow, offroad and highway driving, and doesn't drift around at all, or ping-pong around the ruts like it used to.
I didn't get the shocks, only the extensions. I've got a stubby front bumper with a competition winch (so not that heavy) and a rear tire carrier that's really heavy with my 105 lb. wheel/tire on it. Seems fairly level with maybe a little rake. And a little is a good thing, puts more pressure on the front wheels which aids in road handling. I've got 35x12.5s on 5" backspaced wheels. I only have minor inner rub at absolute maxed out flex with the wheels turned (sway bar on). Back tires don't contact pinch seams. I have 1.5" spidertrax spacers that I'm installing and should have no rub at all.
If you're just looking to clear the 35's it'll do fine for you. I would figure out something for the spare tire though. Hanging a 35 will F your tailgate. And having that heavy spare will help even the rake vs the front end stuff you've got. Eventually I plan on getting new springs and shocks, so maybe get them. I just needed a lift "right now" to clear the tires as I tore my stockers all to hell. As a side note I drove the lift around for a day and a half with my stockers, it still handled perfect.
sn4cktime 10-24-2008, 02:19 AM Oh yeah, my before and after. Stock - see jeep.com. Don't really have a total "before", but remembered to snap a pic before taking the last old tire off. That 2.5" lift was already on there at this point. Stats are in Signature. CB antenna was snapped off during last trail run so not in pics.

New 35's. Spare not on at this point as I needed to re-adjust my PJ to account for new tire depth and backspacing. But you get the idea:
