Alec W 08-13-2008, 08:38 PM I don’t like the gator stuff look. How much for bare metal?
SUPERMAN 08-13-2008, 09:49 PM If I could afford them I would have them...
notarubicon 08-14-2008, 05:08 AM Same as superman if i could afford them i would have them but i have to save and firt things first i need a lift kit
Grant211 08-25-2008, 11:42 AM I don't like... one slip up and its bent and damaged or damage the body. Plastic fenders can be more forgiving.
igofshn 08-25-2008, 11:44 AM Actually the tube fenders will hold up lots better than plastic. I just scraped the crap out of mine and except for the scratch that can be repainted, you cant tell i wacked them. A plastic fender would ahve been ripped off. The tube fender spreads the load over the entire fender so it has more area to absorb the hit. Your puny side is strengthened by the tube fender.
Any idea how wide these are in relation to the OEM flares? I just munched the DS front flare this weekend. :shaking:

ghostdancer308 09-13-2008, 04:29 PM Whats the turn around time on the EVO's? I have been hitting Mel up in ref. to the Fox Bumpstop set up and have not heard any response back. Are these fenders on back order? Are they worth 1800$ for front and rears? Thanks for your input.

What lift do you have on there? It looks great with those fenders and big ass Michelins. The silver looks much better than the two-tone look too.

They best way to do this is to buy the corners and the fenders, install them, tack them together, remove them, then weld them together fully.
We can provide the parts to do this setup.

Riiiight, the cops. They have nothing better to do than chase down people whose tires stick out a little beyond the flares. It couldn't be anything else that draws them to you...:shaking:
sn4cktime 03-26-2009, 07:28 PM Those are their welds. They're decent. I wanted to powder coat mine to match my bumpers and they required a few touch ups to correct the undercut/cold-lap at the toes of the welds. I took them to my buddy's shop and we ground a little groove down the seams and re-MIGged em. Longest part was doing the grinding. But now they look show quality.
As a coated or painted product, it would make sense to smooth them out as much as possible. And why not make it cheaper for the consumer. Let me tell you, grinding welds takes a long F'n time compared to doing the welding, and hourly costs are getting factored into that price.

acualy they appear not to, ive been pulled twice for tires sticking out past my flairs, both times i had to put stock tires on and go to the station and both times the cop that was at the station said he had no idea why i was pulled over and the cop that did it was a jerk

lol. I've been stopped before and was asked about my tires, but I was stopped for something else...
Also, I've been a cop for 8 years now and have never stopped anyone for it. There is always much better reasons if I do, then it's just something to add. Same goes for pretty much everyone I ever have worked with.
Sure there was nothing else...?:innocent:
BeerMonkeY 03-27-2009, 03:59 AM the first time he told me the reason he pulled me over was because he saw my tires sticking out further than my fenders second time he said my jeep looked to big and wanted to measure the bumper height then said the tires stuck out to far also, but i never actually got a ticket for that stuff igot a ticket for my registration not matching my insurance address

justajeep 04-24-2009, 03:45 PM Im from Pa, small western part of a town, know a few of the tire watchers, and I get pulled over for my Zenons, not the narrow, the wide ones, you know as wide as the stockers...
Im sure it was a new cop trying to save the world one wide flare at a time...
I took my stock flares to the cop shop, handed the level headed officer a tape measure and said, "what do I do"? His reply- "nothing" and signed off on it...
2 weeks later 1st cop pulles me back over, flips on me, and by the time we are done he has his camera out and calling Harrisburg. Ive never seen anyone so JACKED... His ears were red and everything, but I know if I put those narrow flares on, he'd be all over me...
I think the hair on the camels back was, its Friday night @ 2:30 and you cant find a real criminal? Yeah, thats probably it...
Dont even want to know about my front bumper... thats a whole other story... same bat cop, same bat channel...
09JeepBuilder 05-01-2009, 11:45 AM Whats the military discount on a set of those puppies for an old boy that grew up in st. thomas/shippensburg? What i'd give to talk the old lady into a set of those

Cop has got it bad for you. Maybe make a second trip to the station and file a complaint against him (if you are within the law). Supervisor has to follow-up and it will stay in his file. If things escalate down the road you have some ground to stand on. See if any of your local buddies have had similiar run-ins and have them do the same.

Matt666 06-17-2009, 10:47 PM Great stuff, do you offer a bare metal though and not the gator finish?
sn4cktime 06-18-2009, 02:08 AM Unless you're a welder make sure you have him leave the weld bead on. If they grind it flush it'll leave a bunch of undercut. Is just a visual flaw in regards to something like fenders. Mostly due to MIG welding thin-to-thick materials together.
I got mine plain metal and repaired the undercut myself and now they look perfect. They probably would have looked just as good if I had got them to not grind the bead down.

That's one of the cool things about Kenny, he is very knowledgeable and take the time to talk to you to make sure you understand. I had to go over some stuff with him about the Crusher Corner install and he basically walked me through it.
txlopes 07-28-2009, 04:58 PM yeah i helped out installing a set on Bunkers jeep and like them. any way i could get a set with out the curved drop down on the front? i prefer the flat fender look.
