Yes it is. The weight, the grip, and the speed of the assist is flawless. I in fact was buying a Keltec .380 one day, and while waiting for the back-round check, I decided to play with a few small, but high-end knives. I fell in love with that Kershaw.

The place that I got it caters to LEO and EMS, so I'm not surprised that it has worked out well for you too.

How's that Boker Ceramic? I've been on the edge of getting oone at one time or another but get scared off by the blade...i know it's dumb...but i dig on steel:)

Ceramics are notoriously brittle, so you want to void using them for prying and anything which puts a side load on them. They are very sharp and that Boker is no exception. For cutting it is great, but I wouldn't use it as a working knife.

FWIW I carry that little Kershaw Zing for everyday cutting, and a Strider SNG for meatier tasks, and I'm much happier been hard on a steel blade than I would be on a ceramic.

I carry either a Benchmade mini ambush auto or a benchmade 943 on me every day, depending on what I'm doing. I'll never buy another brand of knife but Benchmade. Best out there, without a doubt. I always have my Swiss army mini manager in my pocket. That thing is worth it's weight in platinum covered gold.

Here is a pic of my Kershaw Chill. Its very light, and I have been pretty impressed with the 8Cr13MoV steel. It holds an edge very well and is easy to sharpen. On top of all of that it is reasonably priced. I have had it for about a year and and its still solid with no movement in the blade.

Now with that being said, I currently have a new Cold Steel Lawman on the way that will hopefully be here today or tomorrow. I am very eager to get that in and see what I think of it. It looks like a pretty good knife.

Well, the Cold Steel Lawman i had on order came in today. I must say I am really impressed with this knife. It is a little bigger than I expected, but it is light enough to carry and it is verrry sharp out of the box. The only thing I don't like is the roughness of the finish on the handle. It has very good grip but is abbrasive and I imagine it will wear out pants pockets rather quickly. I may sand on it a little to see if I can smooth it out a little.

I just bought a sog trident. it is sharp and has a fairly good steel (aus8 which is close to 440b) but my kershaw blur and blackout are hands down better quality knives. The only reason I got the trident over some of sogs other choices was because it is assembled in the usa but it is not of typical sog quality. the kershaws are the opposite they use crap steel but are really well made knives, if they would stop using 440a equivelant steel I would say they are as good as the higher tier knives.

You bastards! You've not only gotten me to purchase a ton of Jeep parts, a XDM9, and a M&P 15. Now you've reignited my passion for knives. I used to collect as a child and recently sold off my collection of fantasy/collectible knives. Only kept a Buck 188/M9 (Had a black BuckMaster, but sold it when I realized it was fetching $400-500...thing wasn't worth that to me and just a Rambo special regardless of how cool it looked). Because of all the cool shit I saw here I decided to pick up a SOG Aegis in desert camo/blk tini blade, and I'm shopping for a zero tolerance 030x. I'll post pics when they get here, but just had to vent on all of you for being such horrible influences.

this is by far the favorite knife a own! 1095 high carbon steel holds a edge well. prefect for camping, hunting, just about any outdoors sports. i have the JR but eventually i want to get the full size and mount it to the roll bar in the jeep.

I have a few but this one by cold steel is my favorite.

If anyone has ever seen Cold Steels DVD, the demonstrate how sharp it is by slicing a 2 liter Coke bottle in half (filled with water) in one slash. I tried it at home. yep it works :)
