Like the title says, welcome to JKOwners.com. The site is small, but I promise you it will someday soon be the largest JK resource on the Internet.

Who are we? Well my name is Lance Clifford, and I am the President of Pirate4x4.com. Pirate4x4 is the largest off road oriented website in the world with one million visitors and fifteen million page views per month. While Pirate4x4 is a little too rough around the edges for a JK Forum, we felt there was a need for a real JK community where people are able to say what they want and share ideas with others and vendors freely.

We have quite a bit of background in this industry, and we plan on letting you readers reap those benefits. We will be doing LOTS of product giveaways here, just for being a member of JKOwners. We will be providing great tech, trail meet and greets, and for those of you who are newbies, we will be conducting some wheelin 101 classes by yours truly (I'm the 2007 and 2008 WEROCK Unlimited National Rock Crawling Champion, and 2006 and 2007 Baja 1000 Jeepspeed class winner.)

So enjoy the ride, and if you have any feedback or ideas, please feel free to drop me a PM or email. Thanks again for being part of something new, and hopefully something fun!

Lance, just a question, are vendor stars or red stars going to be a possibility here as well as PBB?

Yes, they are already available. However they don't carry over from one site to the other.

Ok, I must have missed it somewhere... I'd like to become a vendor here, but for some reason I don't see a link to become one...
Scott
Nevermind, I saw it. Did want to ask, whats the rules on links to my business website if I am not a vendor? Is that legal? If not, I will rip it out of my sig asap.

I asked this question of the admins because I figured it would come up.

If you are not actively marketing your products, then you are ok.

I offered up JR from Warrior as an example, I know he works for Warrior but he likes to help out with questions. He isn't actively marketing Warrior products here and is a welcomed member of the community.

If you cross the line, we will let you know.

If you would like to provide press releases we will post them up for you.

However we would certainly prefer those that will benefit from being here to sponsor our site and our community.

Good deal. As said, I do plan on eventually become a vendor here, and plan on being around here for a while. I have some general knowledge of jeep vehicles, and such, and would also love to learn more about JK's. Thanks for the answer Michael!

"Superwinch EPi9.0 on stock stubbified bumper"

I love the end caps! I've been thinking about how to do a lost cost winch front end. Did you cut off the ends of the bumper and secure them to the shortened mid-section? What was required to mount you Superwinch? Any pictures you could share? Thanks!

Great Site Lance! :)

It's a great idea to have a specific site for "jk owners". This site is very helpful to me already, and I only joind what 4 days ago? I asked questions about the Hesco supercharger and with in an hour I had responce. This site also helps you make desicions on expensive equipment such as the supercharger :smokin: .

Hi, Lance (and everyone). Great site!
I've been a Jeep owner for many years, as have my 3 sons (old Cherokee, 2 XKs, a Grand and TK. My new JK is due for delivery late this month (Feb.08)...Can't Wait! I've ordered it as trail-ready as possible (short of being a Rubicon), with elect rear locker and sway bar disconect. We're planning a trip in July to Colorado (Telluride area) for a week+ of Jeeping. That's a l-o-n-g treck form Florida but we love the sites out there. Till my Jeep comes in I'm browsing everything on the Net that I can find, so here I am and glad for the company. A question: I've read the 3.8 seems to get stronger after about 5K or so. Anyone having that experience?

The fly-by-wire system "learns" your driving style in the first few thousand miles. It seems completely gutless at first (and if you have an auto, you're really not going to like it) but things DO improve. Congrats on the new ride.

Hello from Minnesota. Glad to see a site dedicated to the JK. I have a brand new 2008 4 door Sahara. This is my 3rd jeep. My first was a 2004 YJ, the x-wife got it. My second was a 2004 Liberty. Nice jeep but after wheelin with fellow liberty owners and one blew the front diff when it grabbed while spinning up a hill, I started looking for a jeep with solid axles. Traded it in on my new jeep. Couldn't afford it a year ago but now with 8000 grand off the sticker, couldn't pass on it. So far, am impressed. Can't wait to break it in in the trails. Any fellow JK owners from Minnesota?

Hi, we're Helen & Harry Baker. We are the chairman of Cal 4 Wheel's 2010-2011 Win A Jeep sweepstakes. Our job is to take a new 2010 Stock JK Rubicon and built it into something that everybody wants to win.

Our purpose in joining forum is to get ideas, and product recommendations.

We have some great sponsors lined up already, but there is still room for more stuff.

I hope that our questions will be allowed, because we are interested in what the JK owners want.

Thanks

My son and I just completed our project making Jeep 7 from 2009 Rubicon Unlimited. We tried hard and built it to be Ultimate. Apart from all standard upgrades, like lifts, wheels, bumpers etc, it has build in folding bed, onboard water, cameras etc for best possible control during crawling. Here some pictures for you,
I hope you enjoy what you see.

Hey all.. new to this forum. Have had my 2010 Unlimited Rubicon for a few months now.. and I still smile everytime I look at it seeing no end to the obsession with everything JK related, (much to the shegrin of my girlfriend). I love the free sharing of opinions and ideas involved with forums.. saves me from making the same mistakes as others, so thanks in advance to those who have made those mistakes, haha.

Have had a few jeeps in my driving careers, '82 CJ7, 92 YJ and my first 4x4 was a Suzuki Samurai, (still have a soft spot for 'em). Can't say enough good about my JK though. For me my '10 JK is some other guys '68 Camaro or '72 Cuda.. except that I don't mind taking my dream ride out in the bush and getting it covered in dirt and dust, or denting in the bumper on a rock or tree.

Lance, thanks for the site! My wife has a JK Unlimited Rubi that is getting changed monthly, myself I have had a Jeep in one form or another since 75 my rig is a modified 95 YJ. We have wheeled all over the Mid West (IL, IN, MO and CO) I have judged R Rock and WE Rock comps with a group of buddies at Hannibal and have wheeled the famous Rockport when Tom and Debbie still had it before Hannibal Rocks. I need this site to help with info on the JK I have used Pirate for the others.

Wow, I actually did it. I sold my built TJ after investing a total of over $51,000 over 6 years. I built it tough and used it hard core but now it's gone.
Yesterday I bought a 2011 Unlimited Rubicon with all the options and I guess the fun of building it my way begins again!

Hi everyone, been lurking around here for a while and decided I should do the decent think and join up to be social :)

Picked up a 2010 JK Sport Renegade pack back in June (base model down here but similar to the Sahara over there) and been fiddling with bits ever since! Only been wheeling a few times due to work commitments and shocking weather (trails all flooded out :()

Hopefully I can be of help to someone but most likely will be lurking and gathering more insight and knowledge myself

Hello, my name is Pete and I stay in Jacksonville, Fl
Recently purchased a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. I was told this model was really exciting because its a new gen of engines being that it has the 3.6l as opposed to the 3.8 in older years. I've had my jeep for almost 2 weeks now and been to the Happy Trails 4X4 poker run. It seems like everyone once you own a jeep is your bro, its really an awesome thing! I love it.

I'm Dan from Santa Ana, California. Just got a 2012 JK, a bare-bones 2-door Sport with a manual gearbox. Truth be told it's a company car, but the company I work for actually expects me build it up a bit.

I'll be adding stuff to it over the coming months. The goal is better off-road performance in the nearby Mojave without making it too gnarly for daily use. The plan is to go no bigger than 33-inch tires. I'm planning on a 2-inch lift and expect to swap out the 3.21 gears for something more reasonable.

My last rig was an 80-series Land Cruiser. I'm looking forward to digging into the boards and getting up to speed on the JK.

KORE diff covers, Poly perf. gussets and sleeves on the stock front rubicon housing, Crown extended brake lines, and like some kinda trash can for the rear a grenade shifter bla bla bla.... JK I'd love to mod it some more, but I gotta get this rear end working first.

I've been visiting your forum since purchasing my first Jeep last July 3rd. It's a 2002 TJ and I liked it so much that I ordered a 2013 Unlimited Sahara today. It should arrive in about 2 months. This is where you come in. I couldn't decide on the color or cloth or leather for the seats. So after reading and re-reading posts this is what I ended up ordering and it wasn't an easy choice.
2013 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara
Bright White paint, black interior with cloth seats, seat heaters, auto trans, max tow, polished sparkle wheels, dual top group, connectivity group, 430N nav, auto climate control, supplemental seat mounted side airbags and slush mats.

So I owe all of you that posted your opinions a big thank you for your help. I'll be back once I take delivery.

Best regards,
John

Hello all. Just joined the forum. I have been lurking around this place a couple years, but was a member of... somewhere else. I've seen the light now, please don't hold that against me.

Anyway, I have a 2009 2door X with some mods. Hope to get involved here when I can!

Seriously sweet!!!

Hey all, just getting into the JK thing myself... Don't own one yet but came here to absorb all of the information I possibly could. my bf owns a TJ Rubi and a 4 door jk Rubi is in my near future. I'm in NC now but moving to CO by the end of this month, so waiting until I get out there and settled before I buy... Plus it puts me closer to Jimmy's in Cortez so I can start working on mods! :)

Hello JKO! Just joined up and checking in from Long Island. I've got a new to me silver '09 JKU X manual. Currently stock but future plans include a 3.5 RK lift and 35's. Went to Rausch Creek in Dec for my first time wheelin ever, and now I'm officially hooked.
Can't wait to start my build and get dirty.

I found this site researching info on my wife's 2010 Wrangler Unlimited Sport (natural green, I think) hardtop for a starter failure this past weekend at only 65Kmiles. Specifically I was searching on factory service manuals...I was already aware that you can't readily buy them for the newer Jeeps...bummer. The 2010 is mostly a soccer mom vehicle but is also often used for camping and occasional serious off road. In December we were inspecting some property in Arkansas that involved hilly dirt roads and heavy rain. I think we came out of there with 100 lbs of mud on the Jeep. Fortunately most of it washed off in the rain on the trip back, though doing the starter replacement I found that there is still plenty of mud underneath after two major spray washes including underneath. There wasn't any mud around the starter though.

My wife is the main Jeep person in the family though I am a serious car guy. I'm currently doing an engine/trans replacement in her prior Jeep, a black with Spice hardtop 97 Wrangler Sahara. It trashed a piston at 227Kmiles though we've always been careful about use of quality oil and regular oil changes.

My other vehicles, besides the two Jeeps, include a 58 Chevy Suburban 2wd, 58 GMC NAPCO 4wd pickup, 61 Corvair Lakewood station wagon (resto-modified but now worn out again), 66 Corvair Monza coupe (restored but headed to Yenko clone), 73 Lotus Europa John Player Special, 86 Chevy Silverado pickup (only has 300Kmiles on it with no internal engine work ever), and a 86 Corvette convertible (modified for SCCA Solo2). Since I mostly take care of work and family these days, my vehicles have in general descended more into projects, but hopefully I'll get time to get back to them once more.

Hopefully the 2010 will behave for a good while, but I may be on the list asking "how to fix" questions since the manuals don't seem to be available.

Thanks,

Mark N

Good evening, my name is rav84, I have just purchased a fixer upper 2010 JK and have been following your page looking for anything and everything about my new toy. I believe that I may ask more than give as my skills in mechanics is at best limited. In any case, thank you for allowing me to participate.

How You Doin!? From Jersey! My name is Joe and I have a few vehicles... But, most importantly, a 2009 JK... I've had it for a couple years and have enjoyed every minute (except the one when I hit a hidden tree stump buried in the snow... ouch! ) Other than that, I belong to a few different forums; Jaguar owners of America, LS2.com., NortheastGM.com, GTOAA... and now one for my JK... I'll fill "yous guys" in as time goes on... but I have to be at work in a couple hours so I bid you a good night for now.

Hey everyone! I've had my 2009 JK "X" for about a year now and havn't done many mods yet, hoping to learn and get tips from this forum though. I am located in the north-west Washington area, but am moving in a few weeks to San Diego to my new duty station.

I will try and attach a photo of my jeep. I have taken out the interior and rhino lined it and then added non-skid to a lot of it. I just purched a CB radio, pretty exciting for me, and I have a lot of grab handles but that is pretty much it for my modding so far.

Glad to be part of this Forum! :)

Hi! I'm new to the site and hoping to pick up some tips and insight.
I'm Jeep owner for 3 years. My first was a 2010 wrangler mountain, it was my first jeep...needless to say I am hooked. I traded in the mountain after a 3 year lease...with 3k in equity...jeeps really hold their value;).
I just purchased 2014 wrangler unlimited color - dune. I have upgraded the suspension with an AEV 3.5 lift and Nitto trail grabbers 35's. On AEV argent pintlers

I'll be getting bumpers soon. I'm looking at the smittybilt SRC with winch.

Open to feedback.

Greg

Howdy. About a month ago I traded in my '08 Tundra and welcome myself into the Jeep family with a '12 Freedom Edition. I only regret not doing it sooner. Since then I've been doing little else than constantly scanning parts catalogs and making wish lists. I installed a Banks Ram-Air about a week after I brought it home. I've been lurking this and the other forums for advice, walk-throughs, reviews and so on, so y'all have already been more than helpful.

This was a few days after I bought it, just north of Lake Mead outside of Vegas:

https://scontent-a-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/1477747_10150392605484959_1990813265_n.jpg

After that I installed a Teraflex 2.5'' coil lift with Bilstein 5100s and about a week ago I finally got my new tires on: MT ATZ P3s in 315/70R17. Please forgive me for the parking lot photo, as I haven't had a chance to get out and wheel with them yet:

https://scontent-a-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/1487345_10150398287279959_527379907_n.jpg

Up next is a Rugged Ridge XHD bumper and Smittybilt XRC 10 comp winch. Then a rear bumper/tire carrier. Then armor. Then--- I. Can't. Stop. Is this normal?

Hello Fellow Jeep Enthusiasts. I am from England and This is the first forum I have ever joined so please bear with me. I have a 2007 JK Unlimited RHD CRD and a 1991 2 door XJ 4.0HO auto LHD. My JK's 545RFE is destroyed and the CRD engine has been sold. I am in the process of putting a 4.0 HO AW4 combo in as we speak. I don't know how to start a post on the project so guidance would be appreciated. If you guys are interested of course. ;)

Kind Regards

Greetings, guys. I'm on my 2nd Wrangler, which has remained stock since purchased new in 2012. The only upgrades were an LoD front bumper and transferring my Warn 9000i winch from TJ (gone but not forgotten).

I lifted the 2004 TJ Rubicon 5-speed using an OME/JKS hybrid kit from DPG Offroad. I added Jeeperman bumpers (looked good until the powdercoating failed) and wound up with a really sharp, capable, and comfortable Jeep on 33" tires and a set of Teflon AR Chambers that I miss badly.

For reference only:

http://www.packnet.net/jeep/jeepsig2.jpg

I'm now a couple of years into the JK business, definitely enjoy the Pentastar's power, room for all three kids, etc. Miss the short wheelbase, and the clutch - went for the automatic, old-man style. Below is a pic from the first day I bought it. The only changes are the sagging front end under the weight of the winch and new bumper.

http://www.packnet.net/jeep/jk-4.jpg

My goal is a modest lift for 35" tires, new wheels (can't find my Teflon AR Chambers for the JK :( ), possibly flat fenders, and a vehicle that still behaves nice enough to be a daily driver. My wheeling is modest stuff.

Look forward to hearing recommendations and tech lessons from those who have already bloodied their knuckles under their Jeep.

Hello!
Former XJ owner, the wife & I just recently took the JK plunge, with a very low mileage 2012 Black Forest Green Sahara. We are blessed here in Arkansas, with 2 amazing National Forests to explore, as well as being close to multiple ORV parks - including Superlift.

Since getting bit by the JK bug in June 2014, we've been to Superlift ORV park, joined a great Jeep club (Jeep Owners of Central Arkansas - JOCA https://www.facebook.com/groups/240443559418890/ ), logged hundreds of miles off pavement throughout the Ouachita National Forest & driven our little Jeep to Florida - hitting Daytona Beach & Ocala National Forest. We've also met a ton of new friends - from all walks of life & backgrounds, all with a common love of Jeeps.

First things first.

Type the subject of your question in the search box at the top right of the page.

Look through the threads that show up on your topic, if you still don't see what you are looking for, come back here and ask your question.
