From my new standpoint I could do Gold Mountain from what I understand but am too much of a smallfry for John Bull. I'll be a maybe depending if I get all moved out this weekend.

Stockers can run John Bull. As long as you have rocker protection and a spotter, then you will be fine.

Yeah, I don't think I would even think about doing either of those without rock rails. The fun is not worth screwing your jeep all up because you don't ahve protection, imho. :beer:

Rollbar, if you need rocker protection I have my Rubi stockers sitting in my garage collecting dust. They're yours if you want 'em. I don't have the hardware to hook 'em up, but I'm sure the good folks here on the site can help out... :mr-t: Opps... yer a 2 Door, damn it... well, if you know someone with a torch... or you can sawzall 'em.

cutting them is not an issue, but I doubt that the mounting points would line up.

Dayton - can you give me a measurement center to center on the two forward mounting tabs? If that measurement is the same then we can just hack the back off with a sawzall. :devil:

FWIW, I got my stock H2 through that trail (JBT) relatively unscathed. With a semi-decent spotter don’t even sweat it your JK ;)

Alright guys im in. Just let me know where to meet you and what time. My rocker panels are already bashed in so no worries. Looking forward to it. I'm going to try and get this 4dr to go as well. I just put RE 3.5 shortarm and fab four sliders on it. He is running 35 MTR's and looks real purtty. Think he has like 2,000 miles on it or so.

OKay, we hooked Rollbar's jeep up today. I cut down some 4 door sliders from Dayton and make them into 2 door sliders. Worked great! Then I threw my factory stubby with some tow hooks from ctimrun on it. Thanks you two for hookin him up. :beer::beer::beer:

Okay, our unnamed trail rider would like to meet us at the trail head of John Bull at 1pm. Soooooooooo lets figure out a game plan that puts us at John Bull at 1. I know gold mountain takes about two hours right? I am thinking if we hit gold mountain at 10am, we can take our time, and then eat lunch at John Bull while waiting for him. Anyone have input?

We will do our best to spot you over the boulders, but you are probably gonna smack them a few times (just want to make sure you know you are probably gonna pick up some damage)...hate to see you screw your truck up, and at the same time want to see you kick the trails ass!

I scored a 49$ cobra CB and magnetic antenna ($20) at frys in Anaheim.
Seems to work ok but in my driveway i wasn't able to talk to anyone. Although i listened to a conversation of some peeps who claimed to be in Norcal.

Well Thanks Melissa! I can't express how much I appreciate everybody's friendship and acceptance even though my Toyota is clearly NOT a JK!!!
I just picked up my truck from 4 wheel parts. And I am SOOOO glad I had the locker installed instead of doing it myself. I've been working on cars since I was about 10yo and I can follow instructions to a T and am even humble enough to call tech support with questions. BUT if I had installed it I would be questioning whether I had done it right because it clicks, it clunks, the tires chirp, and it just feels funny. I can't wait to try it out. JB - just under 7 miles total, hard part around 2 miles, says two hours. I know people have run it in an hour tho I know we wont be going that fast.

GM - 4.5 miles, 1-2 hours.

Hey Jason- The trailhead IS right off hwy 18 in that curve next to Balwdin lake (dry). I suggest we meet there at 10am. We definitely can get through Gold mtn in under 3 hours. We could have lunch at the beginning (east side) of John Bull (3n10) trail while we wait for the masked JKrs.

Is this the direction you were thinking? Some will aurgue that JB is one way only---- but it is NOT. Goes both ways, just like (insert name here):D
