Thinking about adding a trans temp gauge, looking to see where others have mounted them and where to take the reading off the auto trans. Also will probably do a B&M trans cooler.

Those that already have a trans temp gauge, what are the highest readings you have gotten out on the trail. I would like to know if this is a worth while mod.

In my opinion if you are going to buy a gauge get the aeroforcetech gauge. I have one and it is pretty damn cool.

X2 It just plugs into the OBDII port, 30 seconds to program it (three days to figure out how :D) and it's there.

I have Autometer Sport Comp II gauges, which are a close match to the factory gauges and LED back light so they look almost identical at night too.

I like the functionality of the Aeroforce system though, it's a nice setup. If I hadn't already got a ScanGuage I most likely would have opted for the Aeroforce.

I have a B&M cooler and have never seen temps above 165°F on the trail, and that is with outside temps above 100°F. It rarely breaks 150°F in stop and go traffic.

BTW Here's another interesting alternative:

A little pricey, but if you are looking for a GPS as well it doesn't come out too bad.

I went with Dual Aeroforce Interceptors

and where to take the reading off the auto trans.

I wne the expensive route. I had a Hemi dropped in.:D Trans temp comes straight from the computer.
